The Gliding Club of Victoria (GCV) is seeking expressions of interest from suitably qualified people to act in the role of mid-week Operations Manager in the period from 1st November 2018 to mid-March 2019.
GCV is the largest single gliding club in Australia, and operates from Benalla airfield approximately 200km north-east of Melbourne. GCV was the host club for the 34th WGC in January 2017. The club’s website is here
We offer a full range of services to soaring pilots at all levels including basic course training, coaching, passenger flying, competitions, professional workshop, and facilities for visiting experienced pilots with their own gliders or hiring club aircraft.
We operate a volunteer operation at weekends throughout the year. During the summer season we operate every day, and each year we engage someone to manage that operation. The job is suited for an experienced instructor and/or tug pilot who is able to manage the operation and ensure that a good service is available to all members and visitors.
The club can provide accommodation for a suitable applicant, and we will negotiate other arrangements to suit the person concerned depending on the actual duties agreed.
A position description is attached. We are quite flexible depending on the skills and interests that people may have, although the core management functions are essential.
If you need more information you can contact me at this email address off list, or phone 0417 268 073. Internationally, it is +61 417 268 073, and please remember we are in a UTC +10 timezone 🙂
